overview

Relational meditation practices are a primary focus at Adirondack Dharma. We meditate together by speaking and listening as well as by being in relationship with others in the world.

Relationship is woven throughout the Buddha's teaching, so much so that he said friendship is the whole of the spiritual path. At times over the past 2,600 years, we have had a tendency to overemphasize silent meditation and ignore the relational aspects of meditation. Through relationship, we are inherently intertwined with the world. Our greatest joys and sorrows are reflected in it.
